i can not believe what i read in the first chapter

I got pissed off at the writer for telling readers how to clean their camera sensors. The book suggest cleaning the sensor in a circular manner. NEVER BUT NEVER clean your sensor with anything but a sensor cleaner tool and ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. one scratch on you delicate sensor and you might as well throw the camera away.
after that huge error in recommendation I stopped and removed it from my collection. maybe there is some great information to follow but I can not go beyond that suggestion.
I have been shooting for over 20 years on film and now digital.

Very good overview to digital camera photography for beginners

It is well formatted ( a big deal for Kindle books and not always easy to achieve), concise (hitting the major points for beginners), and a good length at about 60 pages, giving readers a general rundown on the subject and the basics.
Suggestions like 'read the camera's manual' may seem like no-brainers, but I ignore this advice all the time, and end up later looking for the manual in PDF form online to answer a question I have.
I didn't really care about the History of DSLR, however you have to give an intro to the subject and why not that one? It was followed by some tips and then the advantages of using a DSLR camera.
"Understanding Your Camera" and the associated diagram were good. (Photos in the book were very good too.) I found the explanation of camera 'modes' useful for both DSLR and digital point and shoot cameras.
The book is on a technical subject, but simplified in a way that made it manageable to understand. "Professional Tricks" and similar were helpful, but not overwhelming.
Some of the tips in the book seem like common sense, but the reminders were gentle and explained where needed. At no time in reading the book did it feel as though the author was talking down to his audience, and it is obvious that the author cares about his subject and sharing his knowledge with his readers.
I would recommend it to anyone who is new to digital photography.

NOTE: As for the 'sensor' wiping thing that one reviewer of this book mentions before giving it a low rating, there are two things to consider: this author's Disclaimer - read it and know this is a 'broad guideline' and 'you may also be called upon to clean the sensor' is just a comment - not a flaw in my opinion. The author mentions the automatic sensor cleaning system and that 'gently wiping' the sensor to remove debris like sand may be necessary. Seems like a good bit of info to me.

Not very helpful. All the info could be found online. Not worth the $1 I paid. I'm really disappointed.
