My son has sensory processing disorder and has a language ...

My son has sensory processing disorder and has a language delay. I used these cards to help him increase his vocabulary and talk in sentences. The cards have different scenes where Max, the monkey, is doing something. For example, if there is a picture of Max in a car, I would ask: What is Max doing? And my son would respond: Sitting in the car. I would then prompt him to say it in a sentence: Max is sitting in the car. He's doing so well with speaking in sentences now.

My 20 month old loves it!

Bought these to entertain my 20 month old son in the car when I'm in the backseat with him and my husband is driving. He loves them!! He can answer most of the questions in the decks but also has learned some new things. He hates car rides but he has fun learning with Max the monkey! As soon as I show it to him he excitedly yells "Max!" :)

Teacher Review. Great for my very active 2 1/2 year old with little to none attention span! Here is why:

I bought these for my 2 1/2 year old son. He recently was use to going to daycare but now I am staying at home with him. He has learned so much at daycare that I want to continue teaching him at home. Also he is very active and has a very short attention span. You may say that is normal for this age but he is more so than other children his age. He won't even sit down to watch any kind of TV. He's always on the move trying to take something a part, climb something or get into something he shouldn't. But he will sit down long enough to go through most of the cards in this deck! He loves talking about and looking at the activities that Max does on these cards. These cards provoke conversations vs drilling concepts with questions. As a former teacher, these are great at developing meaningful learning. I feel the concepts are very age appropriate.

A deep and beautiful commentary

Aviva Gottlieb Zornberg is one of the remarkable Torah teachers of her generation. All who have attended her lectures in Jerusalem can attest to her great learning, her poetic and intuitive interpretative skill, her effort to read the Biblical text through combining the traditional sources with insights derived from sociological, anthropological and psychological literature. Her radiant and magnetic personality provide a dimension to her lectures inspirationally which the page does, and sometimes does not capture. But her commentary for any one who will take the time and effort to read it carefully yields new insights into the Biblical texts. And again her readings are ones which almost invariably lead us into deeper understanding of the human relationships involved in Tannach.

This commentary should be a part of the library of all those who love the Biblical text.

Zornberg's "dialectical" approach to discussing the weekly readings of Genesis marries the secular approaches of literature and philosophy and traditional Jewish "learning" in an exciting and thought-provoking way. She uses rabbinic exegesis smartly and sensitively to explore the layers of the text's meaning in a way that will appeal to rather than repel scholars of modern literature who are also theologically inclined. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone interested in Hebrew Bible scholarship.

The Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) inventory model first appeared in 1913, and in its centennial, it is still one of the most important inventory models.� Despite the abundance of both classical and new research results, there was (until now) no comprehensive reference source that provides the state-of-the-art findings on both theoretical and applied research on the EOQ and its related models. This edited handbook puts together all these interesting works and the respective insights into an edited volume.

The handbook contains papers which explore both the deterministic and the stochastic EOQ-model based problems and applications. It is organized into three parts: Part I presents three papers that provide an introduction and review of various EOQ related models. Part II includes four technical analyses on single-echelon EOQ-model based inventory problems. Part III consists of five papers on applications of the EOQ model for multi-echelon supply chain inventory analysis.

I am a sunday school teacher, and my pastor asked me to give a class on "introduction to the old testament". He suggested I look into this book, so I ordered the book from Amazon.com. I have been using the book for the sunday school teaching and the book has been a very good source for teaching. For individual reading, it is great!. The book goes in sequence starting from Genesis and it explains the books of the bible very thoroughly. It is not a complicated or complex book to read, neither is it too simple. Its format is very nice to follow. I am enjoying it!

Potentially Useful but Lacks Comprehensive Answer Key

This book appears to potentially have merit as a practice book for standardized tests, such as the ERB. However, as a guide, the answer key section suffers from too many unhelpful 'answers' written only as "Answers may vary." For kids trying to get their arms around what test-givers expect to see, this is far from helpful and Carson Dellosa would serve the student better by suggesting at least some possible responses in these instances. On a plus side, the content seems relatively interesting, and the work involved is varied and reaches into thinking that involves capturing specific details, as well as putting the finger on what the big picture idea is (again, sometimes however leaving it up to the student to presume they may have gotten the "correct" response because often no specific suggested answer is given). Were it not for this, I would have perhaps given it a 5-star but as it stands now, a neutral.

Martin, a self-effacing but strong-willed manager who had introduced long-needed reforms at the New York Stock Exchange between 1938 and 1941, appreciated that the Fed's effectiveness depended crucially on gaining White House and congressional allies, on boosting the professional level of research and on regaining the confidence of the banking industry. Through meticulous research deftly presented, Bremner shows that Martin's persistence, calm and forthrightness gained new respect for the Fed; his dogged efforts over nearly 20 years re-established a central role for monetary policy in U.S. economic planning. Despite being a dedicated inflation fighter throughout his tenure (his motto was: "A sound currency is coined freedom"), a disastrously disruptive, Vietnam-related inflation he had long forecast was on the horizon at the time he retired in 1970. If Martin thus felt a sense of failure as he left the Fed, Bremner's book justly celebrates the invaluable, long-lasting effects of his overarching plan to establish the Fed's function in coordinated economic policy making.

The life and career of an admirable public servant

William McChesney Martin Jr. (no relation to me, as far as I know) is an important figure in US history. He led the Federal Reserve System from 1951 to 1970, successfully defending its independence in five administrations. This is the first, and to date the only, book-length biography of him.

Of course, the Fed's business is monetary policy, a dizzyingly abstruse subject. But Robert P. Bremner explains it so lucidly that even I, with only a rudimentary knowledge of economics, was able to understand it.

When the Fed's monetary policy goes wrong, the consequences are stark: failed businesses, lost jobs, lost savings. Not only do abstractions like GDP or CPI elicit consternation, but real people around the country suffer crushing reverses. By the same token, monetary policy is designed and carried out by real people with real supporters and opponents, families and careers, principles and ambitions. Robert P. Bremner draws adequate sketches of the main characters in William McChesney Martin's life and work, but I wish he'd rounded them out a bit more. In particular I think he's too nonjudgmental about Martin's opponents.

To appreciate Martin's virtues, however, it's not necessary to contrast them with his opponents' vices. Bremner recounts Martin's mistakes as well as his successes--indeed, Martin himself in 1970 took the blame for failing to avert what he called "the wildest inflation since the Civil War." But the human being and public servant who emerges from these pages is unfailingly dedicated, courageous--and honest. Those were the days.

Very good book. McChesney Martin was a superb banker and alongside Mariner Eccles, established a high standard of performance for future Fed chairmen. The book not only covers the way McChesney Martin managed the Fed, but also represents an economics and economic history textbook.
