Great Pictures and History

This book provides a lot of historical information from Egypt, Greeks, to roman art..it is an exquisite book. I recommend this book. :P. It provides many art pictures and dates estimated to the time periods of the art. Its a really easy read, i needed this book for a Art class and learned a lot from it.

Busch's NIKON D750 GHuide book...a MUST for any D750 Owner

If you have a Nikon D750, then this is a MUST for you. The author covers not only the D750 but several of the accessories that you can use with it...such as the SB900 and SB700. This is one the best reference books he has written. Excellent section on video using the D750. I highly recommend this book.

Great Guide - Top Notch

This is the second David Busch guide I bought. The first was for the Nikon D810. Both of these guides are wonderful. They are comprehensive, easily understandable and wonderfully illustrated. Nikon should include a David Busch guide with every camera it sells. If you want to learn the mechanics of your camera and where things are located, this is the book for you. Every control is explained in detail. My D810 and D750 are both professional cameras. They are capable of so much. They are also complicated. David's books will take away whatever anxiety you have about what's what on the camera or what your options are. Do yourself a favor and get whatever book David has written specifically for your camera. In my case Nikon has placed the controls differently on each camera. It can get confusing. If you are new to DSLRs, David's books are indispensable.

Truely written specifically for the Nikon D750

I was concerned that although it has a photo of a D750 on the front cover, it would be rather generic and not really be written specifically for the D750; I was wrong. It is a very thick book and truly written for the D750. One thing I really liked is the author provides detailed recommended camera settings for different shooting situations. It is great for both a beginner and advanced photographer. Very informative, written clearly and with occasional humor. A great book...I wish I had such a book when I was shooting with my earlier D700 and D300.

I always knew I was different.

I always knew there was something...unusual about me. This book has opened my eyes and I now know what that mysterious thing was. No wonder my friends would always ask why I take so long in the bathroom and why it smells so awful when I come out.

I will be going to a doctor soon to try to get my "condition" rectified.

About the Author
LEE J. AMES began his career at Walt Disney Studios and taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and at Dowling College on Long Island, New York. He directed his own advertising agency and illustrated over 150 books, ranging from preschool picture books to postgraduate textbooks. A prolific author of more than 30 Draw 50 books, Lee Ames died at the age of 90 in June 2011.

Success for the worried artist

I bought this book for one of my 6th grade students whose perfectionism is a problem. He told me that he wanted to be an architect but felt that his inability to draw would keep him from his goal.

When I gave him the book, I wrote a note inside telling him to try two drawings each week. He came to class a few days later with two beautiful drawings and asked me why he should do only two drawings.

I wouldn't have picked this book out for myself. The step by step approach isn't for me - it doesn't feel very creative. For my student, who was afraid to pick up a pencil and draw, it was a great fit.

Draw 50 Buildings and Other Structures

Bought this book for my nephew who has always had an interest in building. At the age of three he was able to put any toy, plane or castle together without someone reading the instructions to him. I bought the book to see if he an interest in understanding the basics of constructing a building. He opened the book and within 60 minutes had drawn a bridge, a skyscraper and a castle. He has completed the entire book and his older sister is also using the book. I highly recommend this book to any adult interested in expanding a child's mind. He may never become an architect but he has developed areas of his brain that might help him solve a problem in other disciplines whether science, math, or art. Good book. I would like to use it also.

I'm a landscape and still life artist who needed to create an SF or Fantasy style building or city. I didn't want to take the time to learn drafting. This book is for the beginner or advanced artist who wants a step by step, how-to for drawing accurate structures easily in a few minutes.
No complicated perspective drawings. Quickly draw famous buildings from around the world.
This is a great book for children too. No complicted directions.
A simple guide for creating any type of building you desire. The author makes it simple in as little as 3 easy steps.

La profunda crisis del sector inmobiliario le ha proporcionado la posibilidad de fomentar una de sus mayores aficiones, la de escribir historias. AMORES PROHIBIDOS (Diario de un hombre) - 1� Parte, fue su primera novela en publicarse en papel por la Editorial Chiado en Noviembre de 2013. En Agosto de 2014 se integra en la asociaci�n literaria Colecci�n LCDE y publica bajo este sello la versi�n digital. Poco despu�s, en Septiembre, public� tanto en papel como en ebook AMORES PROHIBIDOS (Diario de un hombre) – 2� parte, con el que pone fin a esta bilog�a. Romance, historia y arte perfectamente balanceadas!

Dicen que la literatura es la representaci�n del arte plasmada en letras, de hecho, una de las funciones de la lectura es culturizar, dejarnos alg�n aprendizaje de vida o intelectual, y por supuesto, entretener y llevarnos a viajar en nuestra imaginaci�n gracias a las hermosas que podemos leer hoy en d�a.

Hace unos d�as tuve la oportunidad de leer un libro que tiene un poco de todo lo que les acabo de explicar: "Atrapada en Venecia" de Leo Mazzola. Un historia rom�ntica en la que el que aprendemos de todo un poco, en el que nos topamos con personajes reales, llenos de miedos, confusiones y equivocaciones, combinados con una ense�anza de lo que es el mundo que se esconde detr�s de la hermosa Venecia. Un mundo que muchos desconocen porque es una parte hist�rica de esa hermosa ciudad, pero que gracias a este libro, podr�n descubrir.

Una historia compleja, interesante, donde viviremos la forma en que muchas veces el miedo, la desconfianza, el orgullo, el pasado, las ma�as experiencias y los prejuicios, nos hacen tomar decisiones u acciones que no son ,o m�s conveniente pero que, al final de todo, se presentan en nuestras vidas para darnos una lecci�n de aprendizaje, aunque esta requiera que tengamos que sufrir y pasarla mal en un par de momentos.

Me encant�. Adem�s este libro en versi�n kindle lo le� en mi �ltimo viaje de dos semanas a Venecia; as� que viv�a todo el escenario de la trana. Es un libro que de verdad termina en lo que menos te imaginas.

Atrapada en Venecia es de esos libros donde se nota el trabajo de investigaci�n que ha hecho el autor sobre historia, arte, Venecia y sus secretos, es un libro para aprender mucho y a la par vivir junto a nuestra protagonista Lara una historia llena de amor, desamor, amistad, superaci�n.
Lara es una chica que no ha tenido mucha suerte en el amor y por eso se va a vivir con Irene su mejor amiga, su vida dar� un giro, y tendr� que asumir la responsabilidad que conlleva vivir sola e independiente. All� conoce a Carlos y se le abrir� una nueva puerta para el amor.
Me han gustado mucho los personajes aunque a veces me desesperaba con Lara, personas con sus miedos, defectos, virtudes, con sus equivocaciones y arrepentimientos, con sus prejuicios y orgulloso.
El orgullo te aleja de lo que realmente quieres por no dar tu brazo a torcer, eliges otro camino y a base de ca�das, desenga�os, dolor, aprendes la lecci�n y cambias tu forma de ser.
En fin Atrapada en Venecia es una novela que me ha gustado y ense�ado mucho, con ese toque de intriga y suspenso que te mantiene pegada a las p�ginas, a la par que conoces los secretos de Venecia y los lugares que el escritor nos va describiendo, m�s la historia de Lara , Carlos, David e Irene.

Wu reveals the complex relationship between material culture, cultural identity, and statecraft intended by the royal patrons. He demonstrates that the Zhongshan king Cuo constructed a hybrid cultural identity, consolidated his power, and aimed to maintain political order at court after his death through the buildings, sculpture, and inscriptions that he commissioned.

About the Author
Xiaolong Wu is Associate Professor of Art History at Hanover College, Indiana. He received his BA in Chinese archaeology from Beijing University and his PhD in Art History from the University of Pittsburgh. His research interest focuses on the material culture of late Bronze Age China and its interactions with the Eurasian Steppe, and issues related to ethnicity, hybridity, agency, and political power.
